Slightly up river, where the A27 crosses the Hamble, this area has several boat yards, marinas, pubs and other landmarks which many will remember from the former TV series ‘Howards Way’.

From the public slipway there is a stunning walk along the towpath all the way down to Warsash, from where you can check out some of the area’s finest properties.

The Bursledon Brickworks is now run as a heritage museum where you can explore 125 years of brick making set in its Victorian Grade II listed buildings. You can also enjoy a coffee in the Brickworks cafe following a scenic walk around Swanwick Lakes Nature Reserve.
